It’s hard to get enough protein if you’re on a vegetarian diet. But it’s not just vegetarians who are not getting enough protein. Most people over the age of 50 can’t digest and use protein well.
But now, thanks to a new breakthrough, everyone can get all the protein they need. How? With protein in a pill.
If you’re of a certain age, you may remember the show The Jetsons, where they could get an entire meal in a pill. Or you may remember Lost in Space, which had protein pills that provided all the nutrition a person would need in a day.
Even David Bowie got in on the action with his song “Space Oddity.” It opens with the words:
“Ground Control to Major Tom … Take your protein pill and put your helmet on.”
Well, yesterday’s science fiction is today’s science fact. It is indeed possible to get protein in a pill. What’s more, it is the single most efficient way to give your body the protein it needs.
As you may know, protein is made from amino acids. But how your body uses those amino acids is very inefficient.
First, you have to eat meat or some other form of protein. Then your stomach acids and digestive enzymes break down that protein into amino acids. Your body then takes those amino acids and uses them to make whatever proteins it needs.
Your body might take some of the amino acids and turn them into muscle. It might use some of them to make skin and bones and hair. It might use some of them to make organ cells. And so on.
But here’s something most people don’t know: Very little of the protein we eat actually makes it all the way through this process.
You might think that the steak you’re eating is giving you all the protein your muscles need. In reality, though, your body uses only about 32% of that steak to build tissue. Your body turns the rest of that steak into glucose to burn for energy.
This is a holdover from our low-tech days when food was scarce. But today, food is plentiful. Most of us are getting way more glucose than we need. And whatever we don’t use for our immediate energy needs is getting stored as fat.
Meanwhile, many of us are not getting enough protein. And this is compounded by the fact that as we age, our digestion doesn’t work as effectively as it did when we were younger. So our stomachs may not even get to fully break down the protein we eat.
As a result, we may end up with muscle loss, saggy skin, and weight gain – classic symptoms of a protein deficiency.
The Easy Way to Reverse a Protein Deficiency
But there’s an easy way to solve this problem. You can effectively bypass your digestive system by taking amino acids directly. When you do, the amino acids go through your small intestine and straight into your bloodstream.
Your body doesn’t have to digest the protein first and convert it into amino acids. You can just skip that part.
By going directly into your bloodstream, your body can quickly turn the amino acids into muscle, bone, connective tissue, hormones, enzymes, and more.
But here’s the problem: You can’t just take any amino acid supplement. You see, you have to take the right amino acids in the right combinations.
As I mentioned last week, there are 8 amino acids you have to get from your diet. These 8 are called the essential amino acids.
You’d think that if you take all 8 essential amino acids, your body would turn all of them to protein, right? That’s what most doctors think because that’s what they’re taught in medical school. But there’s more to the story.
It turns out that we can’t just take those 8 amino acids; we also need to get them in the right balance. Because otherwise, we may end up with too much of one amino acid and not enough of another.
To illustrate this concept, imagine you owned a bicycle factory. And imagine you had plenty of handlebars and seats and frames, but you only had one pair of tires. Well, it doesn’t matter how many of the other parts you have; if you only have one pair of tires, you can only make one bicycle! The rest of the parts go to waste.
That’s the same thing that happens when you take amino acids in the wrong balance. And your body takes any of the amino acids that are left over (not used to create protein) and turns them into sugar.
This is what happens with that steak I mentioned earlier. Steak, along with poultry and fish, don’t have all the amino acids you need in the right combination. So your body uses only 32% of the protein in those foods. And turns the rest into sugar.
So what should you do?
Problem Solved!
Until recently, I’ve never been able to find a product that had the right balance of all 8 essential amino acids. But now there is one – and it has the perfect balance of amino acids. How do we know?
Because when we tested the product, we found that 99% of the amino acids in the product are used by your body to make proteins. And only 1% are wasted. No other product on the market even comes close to those results.
In fact, with current technology, it’s physically impossible to come up with a more perfect balance of amino acids. That’s why the product is called PerfectAmino™.
In fact, PerfectAmino is so effective that, if you wanted to, you could skip the protein foods and use it as your sole source of protein!
In one case study, researchers took a 51-year-old endurance athlete and had her hike for 341 miles while carrying a 48-pound backpack. That’s a long hike.
But this hike wasn’t across any ordinary terrain. It was through the treacherous Taklimakan Desert, where the daily temperatures range from scorching heat to below-freezing.
The Chinese call the Taklimakan Desert the “Sea of Death.” And its name in the local Uygur language translates as “You can go in, but you will never come out.”
The researchers wanted to find out what would happen if she didn’t eat any protein foods during her trek. Her only source of protein was PerfectAmino.
The doctors monitoring her expected her to waste away. But she didn’t.
Instead, she increased her lean body mass … improved her cardio-respiratory function … increased her red blood cells and hemoglobin … and lowered her resting heart rate!
I take PerfectAmino and I recommend it to my patients. It’s a great way to stay strong, fit, and youthful … and a great way to prevent injuries. Remember, your muscles are made of protein. Your skin and bones and hair are made of protein. Even your hormones are made of protein.
